Just two years after his notable run-in with Julius Agwu, Tekno was nominated for the Best New Act of the Year in the 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
A year later, Tekno was then nominated and won the Best Pop Extra Video in the 9th Nigeria Music Video Awards for his part in ‘Duro’.
The same act gave him three more nominations in 2016. Tekno was nominated for the Hottest Single, Best Music Video of the Year and the Afropop Artist of the Year.
While he did not win any of those three nominations in the 2016 Nigeria Entertainment Awards, it was a huge feat for an artist like him.
He later won a big award in the same year—the Best New Act for the MTV Africa Music Awards 2016. That inspired Tekno to step up his game and released a non-album single in ‘Pana’.
The song earned him four nominations in WatsUp TV Africa Music Video Awards.
These are African Video of the Year, Best African Male Video, Best West African Video and Best Afro Pop Video.
Tekno’s most recent nomination was in the BET Awards 2017 for the Best International Act Africa.
Due to the pandemic, his 2020 release didn’t get many nominations but was still seen as one of the best set of tracks he ever released.
